John E. Studt, 59, of 18 First Avenue, died suddenly at his home this morning. A native of Kingston, he was a son of the late Martin and Friedericka Struck Studt.
He lived in this city all his life and for many years was employed as a driver by Kingston City Transportation Company. For the past four years he had been employed as a chauffeur for Ulster County Tuberculosis Hospital. Mr. Studt was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Men’s Club of the church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ella Shurter; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Kirchner; a sister, Mrs. George Bode, both of Kingston; also, two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Jenson and Deegan Funeral Home, 15 Downs Street, Friday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Martin P. Dienst, pastor of the Lutheran Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Montrepose Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
