Arch Herman Baxter. 89, of Wathena, Kan., formerly of Wardell, died April 17 at Methodist Medical Center in St. Joseph. Born July 24, 1900 in Finley, Tenn., he was the son of William and Dinah Stewart Baxter.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Murel Chloe Smith Baxter of Wathena; One son, William Thomas Baxter of Wathena; Three daughters, Mrs. Kathryn Miller of Wathena, Mrs. Mary Lee Moran of Soldotna, Alaska and Mrs. Wilma Jean Gates of Escondido, Calif.; Fourteen grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were April 20 at Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home chapel in Wardell, Ralph McPherson officiating, with burial in Wardell Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Verbal and John Hankins, Charles Thompson, O.L. Glisson, Ollie Bryant and Buddy Phillips.
