Rachel Diane Green, 60, of Givens Lane in Blacksburg, departed this life Tuesday morning, January 19, 2010, in the loving care of her family at her home. Born in Giles County on January 25, 1949, she was a daughter of the late William Andrew and Mildred Songer Williams. She was retired from Wolverine Gasket Co., in Christiansburg, as a supervisor. She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter Rachel Nicole Chafin, and her brother William Powell Williams.





She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 46 years, Leslie H. Green; her sons Leslie H. Green, Jr. and Steven W. Green both of Blacksburg; her daughter and son-in-law Sherri and Larry Chafin of Christiansburg; her grandchildren Megan Quesenberry, Danny W. Chafin, Timmy L. Chafin, Alex H. Chafin; her great granddaughter Ashlynn Quesenberry; her brothers Robert Michael Williams and Debbie Jensen of Hoges Chapel and Charles Edward Williams of Blacksburg; her sisters Jean Smith of Blacksburg, Rose Marie & Fred Revizzo of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Debbie and Bobbie Calfee of West Virginia and her special hospice caregiver Meridith Doss.





Funeral services will be private following cremation as Rachel had requested. The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Make A Wish Foundation in care of Eddie Kendall, P O Box 38, Pembroke, VA 24136. The Green family is being served by the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke.
