Earl L. Zimmerman, 80, of rural Marshall, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, in rural Marshall. Pallbearers will be Dan Vermillion, Jerry Hamilton, Russell Zimmerman, Clyde "Sonny" Hunter, Richard Clemons and Wayne Zimmerman.
Born May 15, 1925, in Hardeman,he was son of the late Fred Robert Zimmerman and Katie Viola Sanders Zimmerman. On Sept. 16, 1949, he married Lucile Smithey, who preceded him in death in 1974. On Aug. 1, 1975, he married Ruby McDaniel Shull. He had lived in Saline County his entire life.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Viola Gail Zimmerman; two sons, David Lee Zimmerman and Billy Gene Zimmerman; a sister, Elsie Werneke; and a brother, Elwood "Woody" Zimmerman.
Survivors include one daughter, Lois White and husband Richard of Marshall; his stepchildren, Spencer "Butch" Shull and wife Donna of Syracuse, N.Y., Victor Shull and wife Sue of Fort Worth, Texas, Judy Boyd and husband Bob of rural Marshall and Mike Shull of Macon; one brother, Elmer Zimmerman of rural Napton; one sister, Ethel Thomas of rural Sweet Springs; 13 stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
