Dan Griffin FRANKLIN
Oliver Daniel "Dan" Griffin, 68, died Nov. 10, 2005, at his residence. A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., he was a son of the late George Russell and Hazel Fisher Griffin. Dan was a former managing partner of Apollo Plastics in Franklin. He was a graduate of Chowan College, a former National Guardsman, a member of the Hunterdale Ruritan Club and the Cypress Cove Country Club. He was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church and an avid UNC Tarheel fan. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kaye Overby Griffin; one daughter, Cindy G. Glazebrook and husband Lee of Graham, N.C.; one son, Dean Griffin and wife Cindy of Courtland; three brothers, Wayne Griffin and wife Rita of Petersburg, Kip Griffin, Robert Griffin and wife Judy, all of Red Oak, N.C.; a special sister-in-law, Mary Ann Fountain of Franklin; and four grandchildren, Madison and Will Griffin and Austin and Kayelee Glazebrook. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Red Oak Cemetery, Red Oak, N.C., with the Rev. Rucker Burnette officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and suggest memorials be made to a favorite charity.
