Jackson Burley Ramsey Sr. was born the oldest of 5 children in Charlotte N.C. to Robert Boyd Ramsey and Morilla Jane Ogburn Ramsey on February 12,1921.He served in the United States Army during World War II.He retired after 30 years service as an E&I Mechanic with Savannah River Plant,Aiken,SC.He lived in Belvedere,SC for many years and then in Langley,SC and Bath,SC.Due to his declining health in his latter years,he was eventually living at NHC Healthcare in North Augusta,SC.He passed away at University Hospital in Augusta,Georgia from congestive heart failure.

He was a very kind man with a big heart. He loved kids and would load up us and our friends in our Plymouth station wagon and head to the local watering hole,Willow Springs for us to swim and relax on the sandy shore. He would allow us to take a friend along with us on vacations to the beach or mountains, and even Six Flags Over Georgia. Some of our friends had never been before to Six Flags and thoroughly enjoyed it.Some had never been to the beach before either.

He also did odd jobs for people as he was a "Jack" of all trades. He did plumbing work a lot and some electrical too.He was very outgoing and never met a stranger.

He is survived by Mary B.Ramsey,West Virginia;Recinda Hoover,West Virginia;Joan Barkley,North Augusta,SC;Lance Ramsey-Roberts,Savannah, Georgia.
