West Warwick - Joyce E. (Halsall) Lake, 76, of Archambault Avenue, died Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Scallop Shell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in South Kingstown.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Robert J. and Elizabeth (Doige) Halsall, she previously had lived in Cranston for 35 years. She worked as a shipper, employed by Jewel Case for 27 years until her retirement in 2006. For 10 years she was a volunteer for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

She is survived by two sons: Gary J. Wotton and his wife Jing of South Kingstown and Brian E. Wotton of East Providence; one daughter: Robin Garbett of Wellborn, FL; three sisters: Beverly Lincoln of Seekonk, MA, Phyllis Kirk of Port Orange, FL and Roslyn Dias of Concord, NH; one brother: Everett Halsall of Kannapolis, NC and her grandson Brent McKay. She was the mother of the late Steven Thomas Wotton and the sister of the late Roberta Chappell.

Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours will be on Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Donations in her memory may be made to Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, Providence, RI 02907.
