Deacon Willie Lee Buchanan age 81 passed away Feb. 12, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Dawson, GA and lived in Trenton for 55 years. He was educated in the Thomas County school system and studied 4 years and graduated from Monmouth Bible Institute. He worked for Wenczel Tile Co. for 28 years, New Jersey Porcelain Co., part owner of B&W Custodial, and was an Associate for Walmart for the past 18 years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. Deacon Buchanan was a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church since 1957. He was ordained as Deacon in 1962 and worked tirelessly because Jerusalem was his heart. He loved teaching Bible Class and Sunday School. He was an avid gardener and loved to sing. Deacon Buchanan is survived by his wife of 53 years Ernestine Buchanan, son Gregory, daughter Karen Wheeler (Anthony) all of Ewing, brother Frank (Jewel) of Texas, sister Ethel Mae Everett of Thomasville, GA, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert Reynolds Jr. (Delores) of Ewing, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 11am Fri Feb. 21, 2014 at St. John's Baptist Church 70 Oregon Ave. Ewing, NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service at the church. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery Newtown, PA. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
