Mr. Carl Truman Long, 68, of Estill passed away early Thursday morning at the Estill Nursing Home.

Born July 25, 1945 in Hampton County, he was the son of the late George Henry Long and Mary Pauline Sanders Long. Mr. Long retired from Westinghouse after 39 years of service and was a very active member of Steep Bottom Baptist Church where he had been a deacon and pianist.

He is survived by three sisters: Kathleen Groves and husband Allen of Walterboro, Eunice Campbell of Pickens and Nell Cobb of Westminister; three brothers: Marion Lee Long of Nixville, LeRoy L. Long and wife Gail of Aiken and Alfred Marshall Long and wife Brenda of Nixville; one sister-in-law: Ann Long of Varnville.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2 PM at Steep Bottom Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Charles Moore with burial following in the church cemetery.

Visitation for friends and family will be Friday, May 2, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home, located at 300 Mulberry Street, West; Hampton, SC 29924 (803-943-3352) and on Saturday until 1 PM when the casket will be placed in the church prior to service.
