Travis W. Moody, 83 of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday April 26, 2014.
He was born September 2, 1930 in Fayetteville, the middle son of Terry W. Moody and Phoebe Hazel Sivage Moody.

On September 20, 1948 he joined the National Guard. He graduated from Fayetteville High School class of 1949 having lettered in football. On September 3, 1950 he was activated, and with his unit was part of the 142d FA Gp that was sent to Germany, receiving an Honorable Discharge with service of 6 years and 5mo.s in 1955.

Upon returning from military service he was employed by Southwestern Electric Power Company in 1954 where he worked as the warehouse supervisor for 39 years.

Survivors are Brothers Leroy Moody of Fayetteville and Charles Moody and his wife Margaret of West Fork and Sister Wanda Peterson of Fayetteville, nephew, Matthew Peterson of Lowell, Nieces Coe Ellen Merritt and husband Ken of Fayetteville, Kia Anna Peterson of Fayetteville, and Kae Linda Adams of Prairie Grove; Great Nephew Skylar Merritt of Fayetteville and Great Nieces, Kelsea Moore and Shelbi Moore of Fayetteville and Liberty Adams of Prairie Grove and many cousins and friends.

Travis was a Christian who loved the Lord and his church. He was a Master harmonica player and a devoted Razorback fan. He loved the outdoors and spent many hours fishing and boating on Beaver Lake. His warmth and kindness will be missed by his family and friends.



Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Monday, May 5, 2014, at Center Street Church of Christ with Jack English officiating. Burial will be at 2:00p.m. in the Fayetteville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Beard's Chapel from 3-5p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2014.
