Molly Bea Smith was born May 10,1969 in Rochester, Minnesota to Harvey and Eunice Teyler. She spent most of her life living in Alamosa, Colorado with her parents and two sisters, Suzanne and Colleen, as well as her two nieces, Hope and Holly. Molly graduated from Alamosa High School in 1987 and continued her education at Adams State College. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and continued on to earn her Masters Degree at Eastern New Mexico University. Molly was an educator for 23 years in Farmington Municipal School Systems as well as Clovis Municipal Schools. She was most recently teaching 6th grade at Marshall Middle School and deeply loved her students and staff.
When Molly was not teaching, she enjoyed watching baseball, spending time outside, and being surrounded by family and friends. Molly attended Kingswood Methodist Church and was firmly rooted in her relationship with the Lord and the Emmaus Community. Her family thanks all who have sent prayers, positive thoughts, kind words, well wishes, and other forms of support while she fought courageously.
Molly is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Mark Smith; her two children Elizabeth and TJ; parents Harvey and Eunice Teyler of Alamosa, CO; sisters Suzanne Kelnhofer (Steve) of Joy, IL and Colleen Hurst (Mike) of Del Norte, CO; nieces Hope (Mark) of Salt Lake City, UT; Holly (Kyle) of Delta, CO; Amy (Daniel) of Albuquerque, NM; and Sara (Quincy) of Normal, IL; nephews Joseph (Frederick) of Las Vegas, NV, Jonathan (Bethany) of Grandview, IA, Teyler (Janine) of Monte Vista, CO, Matthew (Ashley) of Monte Vista, CO, Brad (Joanna) of Albuquerque, NM, Matthew of Tijeras, NM, and Justin of Normal, IL as well as great nieces and nephews Kaci, Addison, Jonathan, Ryelan, Connor, Terance, and Taylor.
She is preceded in death by her sister Tracy Teyler, father-in-law Marvin Smith, brother-in-law Kenny Smith, and several grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
