Joseph Burns, age 79, of Mount Laurel, NJ, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at his home. Mr. Burns was an active member of the Gloucester City and Riverside String Bands.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan (nee Schneider); children, JoAnn Doyle (Dennis), Joseph E. (Dorothy) and Judith L. Genova (Michael). Mr. Burns is also survived by his brother George Burns, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday September 16th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM followed by the memorial service both at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel. Interment will be in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300 Marlton, NJ 08053.
