Ross Whaley - Flying Officer, Born 18th February, 1922, in Egremont Township, Ont. Educated at Egremont & Normanby Public School and Durham High School. Entered the service of the Bank 1st March, 1940, Served at Durham, Ont. Enlisted 5th August, 1942, from that branch in R.C.A.F. Pilot Officer 29th October, 1943; Flying Officer 29th April, 1944. Trained at Hamilton, Ont., Lachine, Mont Joli, Victoriaville, Cap-dc-la-Madeleine and St, Hubert, Que., graduating with honours from the last-named school, Served at Bagotville, Que. Overseas in May, 1944. Served in British Isles and Holland, going to Holland 26th October, 1944. Killed on active service 1st January, 1945.
