Maxine Mary Speece Fisher went home to be with the Lord and family members that have preceded her in death after a short fight with cancer on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. She departed this life with much of her family by her side at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.
Maxine was the beautiful bride of Argyle "Archie" Fisher for 37 years. Together they had two blessed children, Shawna Johnson of Ripley, WV, and Steven Fisher of Lockhart, WV.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evine Speece, sisters, Linda Johnson and Charlotte Speece, and nephew, Justin Hafer.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Archie Fisher; children, Shawna Johnson and Steven Fisher and spouse Ashley; six precious grandchildren, Hannah Johnson, Kaitlyn Johnson, Emma Johnson, Evan Tanner, Kyler Fisher and Parker Fisher; father, Tom Speece, brothers, Ed Speece, Willard Speece and David Speece; sisters, Betty Hafer, Barbara Benson, Elizabeth Myers, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition, she was a "Nanny" to many while employed at Kid Care Day Care and Pre-school.
Arrangements are being provided by Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV. Friends may visit the family at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, on Thursday, April 17, 2014, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014, at 1:00 pm at the Second Baptist Church in Ravenswood, with Pastor S. R. Parsons, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery.
A fellowship gathering will be held at the church following the burial for friends and family. Refreshments will be provided and anyone wishing to contribute the same are welcome to do so.
