Stella Marie Bailey, 88 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went to be with the Lord at 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at her son's residence.
She was born on Tuesday, September 15, 1925 in Springfield, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles Lambert and the late Myrtle Mae (Windon) Lambert. She married Thurman J. Bailey on December 12, 1953 in Richmond, Indiana and he passed away in June of 1993.
Stella was a housekeeper for Turtle Creek Apartments, retiring in 1989. She also was a very avid Bingo player.
Surviving are her son, Michael A. (Jan) Bailey of Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Mary Jo (Mike) James of Daytona Beach, Florida; step-daughter, Linda Carter of Church Hill, Tennessee; niece, Connie (Mike) Lockwood of Hinckley, Ohio; & nephew, Richard Robinson of Springfield, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Josh Hudnall of Fort Wayne; Tim & Mike Myers of Daytona Beach, Florida; Brandon James of Knoxville, Tennessee; & Floyd Carter of Purcell, Oklahoma; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with Rev. Wayne Gullion officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
Friends will be received for two hours prior to the funeral service on Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Waynedale Baptist Church in Fort Wayne.
