Mrs. Anita Perrou West, 93, of Valdese died Saturday January 9, 2010 at her residence after a period of declining health.
Mrs. West was born may 19, 1916 in Burke County to the late Frank and Janie Pons Perrou. She was a member of the Waldensian Presbyterian Church and had retired from the Waldensian Bakery after more than 30 years of employment.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Clementine Butler and three brothers, Stephen, Albert and Ernest Perrou.
Surviving are her brother, Benjamin Perrou and wife Rachel of Valdese, four sisters, Madeline Blizard of Winston-Salem, Adeline Murry of Valdese, Josephine Yoder of Pensacola, Fla., and Peggy Jane Verreault and husband Buster of Anderson, SC. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
A family time of remembrance will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday January 12, 2010 at Heritage Funeral Service A Graveside Service will be held at 2: 00 P.M. in the Waldensian Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Kevin Fredrick and Rev. Jim Cockerham officiating.
