Diana Lou Warren passed away on August 4, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Louis and Anna Ruth (nee Evans) Schrader, Diana arrived on December 30, 1925. Graduating from the Baylor University's School of Nursing in Waco, Texas, as a Registered Nurse, was a proud point in Diana's life. Shortly after graduating, Diana announced that she was going to marry Joe W. Warren. Her family was a bit shocked, as Joe was recently widowed and had 3 small children. It turned out that marrying Joe on February 7, 1954, was the best thing that ever happened to either of them. Diana truly loved the children, Carolan, David, and Patty as if they were her own. Ten months after Diana and Joe were married, they were blessed by the birth of their son, Timothy Whitaker. Together, Diana and Joe, spent 52 years loving each other before he passed away in 2006. Being a registered nurse gave Diana the knowledge she needed to give the children immunizations at home. When she started boiling the water to sterilize the needles the children would be in tears, but she always made sure they were taken care of. During the holidays, Diana would shine with the kids coming home to Irving, TX to visit. Educated and smart, Diana could be teased about being bossy, or sometimes impatient. It was just part of who she was, it was never intentional. Sitting in a restaurant with Joe and her sister, Joan, Diana recognized a young lady walking by. This young lady was Tim's high school sweetheart, Paula. She quickly made mention that Tim was single, and living in Phoenix. Giving Tim's phone number to Paula was the start of their reconnection. Seven years later, Tim and Paula were married. It just goes to show that Mother really does know best. Three years ago, Diana and Joan moved to Arizona to be closer to Tim and Paula. They truly enjoyed spending all of the holidays together. Spending time with Carolan and Van at their vacation home also was a great joy for Diana. The hummingbirds in Arizona were special to Diana, she loved to watch them come up to her hummingbird wind chime. Diana is survived by her children, Tim and Paula Warren of Gilbert, Arizona, Carolan and Van Vanjepmond of Olympia, Washington, David and Kathy Warren of Greenville, Texas, and Patty and Gary Roberts of Collinsville, Texas, grandchildren Kelli and Joe Worrell and their three children of Arizona, Michelle and Mark Butler and their two children of South Dakota, Neil Hobbs of New York, Zach and Darla Hobbs and their four children of Texas, Neal Hightower of Texas, Laura Hightower of Arizona, Jill Vanjepmond of Iowa and Sean Vanjepmond of Washington, and Davey Warren of South Dakota, and great grandchildren Regina, Blake, and Hanna Worrell of, Arizona, Cody and Colton of South Dakota. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and a funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care 400 South Power Road, Mesa, Arizona 85206.
