Kenneth "Ken" Dickerson, age 90, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Holzer of Gallipolis. He was born November 9, 1923 in Blue Lick, Missouri, to the late Jacob and Ollie (Trent) Dickerson.
Ken was a proud Veteran of the United States Marines. Ken along with two of his siblings each served during WWII and one brother became a prisoner of war. Ken participated in action in the South Pacific at Saipan, Tinian, Marianas Islands, and at Okinawa and Ryukyu Islands. Ken was also a member of Trinity Chapel of Jackson
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Pettit) Dickerson; a daughter, Yvonne (Eric) McFann; a son, Allan (Shawn) Dickerson; four grandchildren, Madison McFann, Mallory McFann, Dana Dickerson, and Deven Dickerson; one great-grandson, Braxton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ken in death in addition to his parents is a brother, Harold Dickerson; and a sister, Maurien Sidwell.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Chapel Church, Jackson, on Sunday, May 4, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bob Jones officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery. Friends may call at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 4-7p.m.
