WATERBURY — Mr. Keith William Carroll, 63, passed away with his family at his side on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in the VITAS Innovative Hospice Care Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital, after a brief illness.
Keith was born in Waterbury on Aug. 16, 1950, son of Lenus W. and Frances (Taylor) Carroll. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He was a bus driver for Northeast Transportation for 30 years, before his retirement, and was a police officer for the town of Prospect for more than 15 years. He loved cooking, watching movies and baseball, and truly enjoyed family gatherings and time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Keith leaves behind his mother, Frances Carroll of Prospect; two sons, Keith Taylor Carroll of South Carolina, and Evan Emery Carroll of Waterbury; a daughter, Kristi Lee Serrano and her husband, Mickey, of Florida; four brothers, Lenus W. "Lenny" Carroll Jr. of Prospect, Kenneth Carroll and his wife, Bev, of Pennsylvania, Kent "Bub" Carroll of Prospect, Kendall Carroll and his wife, Denise, of Oakville; four sisters, Velva Eileen Carroll of Waterbury, Donna "Peanie" Brown and her husband, John, of Bethlehem, Vivien "Bunnie" Carroll of North Carolina, and Kolleen Gillis and her husband, Bob, of Prospect; six grandchildren, Jehryn, Ayanah, Kehdyn, Keith, Chelsea and Taylor; and 24 nieces and nephews. Besides his father, Lenus W. Carroll Sr., he was predeceased by two brothers, Creig "Randy" Carroll and Kim Carroll.
Arrangements: A service will be held at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A burial with military honors will take place noon Tuesday, May 6, directly at Calvary Cemetery.
