Lizzie Miller, 90, of Kalona, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at her home. Funeral services were held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 9:30 am at the Neal Borntrager home, in Kalona. Burial will follow at the Brenneman Cemetery in rural Kalona.
Lizzie Miller was born May 12, 1923 in Jump River, Wisconsin, the daughter of Menno L. and Mattie (Hochstetler) Borntrager. She accepted Christ in her youth and remained a faithful member of the Old Order Amish Church all her life. She was united in marriage to John Henry Miller on October 4, 1945. The couple lived in Wisconsin and Missouri before moving to the Kalona community in 1978.
Preceding Lizzie in death were her parents; her husband; eight brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren; and two stillborn great-grandchildren.
