Lizzie Miller was born May 12, 1923 in Jump River, Wisconsin, the daughter of Menno L. and Mattie (Hochstetler) Borntrager. She accepted Christ in her youth and remained a faithful member of the Old Order Amish Church all her life. She was united in marriage to John Henry Miller on October 4, 1945. The couple lived in Wisconsin and Missouri before moving to the Kalona community in 1978.
Preceding Lizzie in death were her parents; her husband; eight brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren; and two stillborn great-grandchildren.
