Mr. Hollingsworth was the son of Joel and Hannah (Carter) Hollingsworth. The Hollingsworth family had originally come to the New World in company with William Penn, for whom Pennsylvania was named.
Mr. Hollingsworth had retired little more than a year ago on July 1, 1957, from the insurance business in which he had engaged since leaving the industrial profession.
A member of the First Christian Church, he became elder emeritus several years ago by congrational acclamation.
The only survivor is a son, Webster P. Hollingsworth, Hagerstown.
Services were held at the Coffman Funeral Home; interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Obituary for his brother below:
Standing beside the grave of his niece, Miss Helen Hollingworth, in Rose Hill Cemetery amid the peaceful quiet of the Sabbath morning, BARCLAY E. HOLLINGSWORTH, aged 60 years, a former well known manufacturer of this city, ended his life with a pistol The deed is believed to have been prompted by despondency over ill health and his not being able to obtain employment. The deed evidently had been planned, as a note was found later in a bureau drawer at the home of John Lewis, where Mr. Hollingsworth had been living, it having been written late Saturday and was intended as a fairwell. The note read: "With malice toward none and charity to all. Lovingly, B.E. Hollingsworth.:"
Mr. Hollingsworth was a criple. Mr. Hollingsworth came to Hagerstown a number of years ago from the Eastern Shore and was a member of the firm of the Hollingsworth Wheel Company. Following the failure of the concern he was employed by the Maryland Pressed Steel Company. About six weeks ago he was laid off.
Mr. Hollingsworth was a widower, his wife dying some years ago. The following children survive: Anna, Philadelphia; Curtis and Mrs. Edith McCauley, Baltimore; Barclay, Jr. and Norman, Philadelphia; Lydia, Georges School, Philadelphia; Edmund, Jacks Mountain; and Alice, Delta, Pa.
