George "Hank" Talley, age 84, of Newcastle, OK was born August 14, 1929 on a farm southeast of Newcastle. Hank was accepted into the arms of his Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2014 after a short illness with leukemia. He was the 8th child of nine children born to Henry Clifton Talley and Ethel Owen. Hank grew up in Newcastle and attended Newcastle High School graduating in 1947. He spent four years in the U. S. Air Force from 1951-1955. After being honorably discharged he spent the next 33 years working in the government sector as an electronic engineer. He retired in 1988 from Tinker Air Force Base.
Hank married Joyce Bess on Nov. 14, 1958 in Lawton, OK, they were married 55 years at the time of his death.
Hank loved being outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard mowing and gardening. He also enjoyed playing dominoes and drinking coffee with his buddies. After he retired he worked as a private consultant for several years then he and Joyce built homes in Newcastle for eight years. He was a faithful Christian and member of the New Hope Christian Church in OKC. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.
