HANNAH BONIN

Services for Hannah "Scheppmann" Bonin, 88, of Sherburn, will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Mar. 20, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherburn with burial in the Sherburn City Cemetery.
Hannah died Tuesday, Mar. 17, at the Fairmont Community Hospital in Fairmont. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m., Thursday and from 8-11 a.m., Friday at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Johanna A. Koch, daughter of Henry and Wilhimina (Becker) Koch, was born July 26, 1902 in West Heron Lake Township. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was active in her church. Hannah was united in marriage to Louis Scheppmann on August 6, 1918 in Jackson County. After their marriage, they lived in Sherburn where they operated several cafes and later operated the Corner Cupboard in Jackson. Louis Scheppmann died March 3, 1965. Then on Oct.7, 1967, Hannah was united in marriage to Max Bonin at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sherburn. After their marriage, they lived in Sherburn. Max Bonin died March 27, 1990.
Hannah was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, the Sherburn Senior Citizens and the Sherburn VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Donald and wife, Ethel Scheppmann, Fairmont, Gene and wife, Edna Scheppmann, Las Vegas, Nev., Gerry and wife, Jeanne Scheppmann, Burelson, Texas; two daughters, Thelma and husband, James Horgan, Fairmont, Delores and Fred Kielblock, Fairmont; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mathilda, Mrs. Paul Rossow, Lakefield; one brother, Ben and wife, LaVerna Koch, Okabena; also relatives and friends of the Bonin family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one daughter, one son, four brothers and one sister.
