Amy Sue Wheeler, 38, of Hardin, MO died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at her home. Amy was born on August 1, 1975 in Richmond, MO to Jerry Mac and Susan Lynn (Black) Bales. She married Darin Wheeler of Hardin on March 11, 2000; he survives of the home. Additional survivors include her father, Jerry Mac Bales and his companion, Janis Buhrmeister of Richmond; two sons and daughter-in-law, Zachary and Jessica Wheeler of Lee's Summit, MO and Taylor Wheeler of Hardin; sister and brother-in-law, Mindy Lynn and Vince Green of Richmond; granddaughter, Emma Wheeler; nephew, Gage Green; and two nieces, Abbi McCumber and Kendra Green.
Amy was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Lynn Bales.
Amy was a Preschool Teacher at Creative World in Liberty, MO for the past 6 years. Amy was of the Christian faith. She had lived in Hardin most of her life. She received her Associate's degree in Arts at the Highland Junior College.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hardin Track Program. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Visitation will be Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in the Wakenda Cemetery north of Hardin.
