Elizabeth Loretta Riggs, 78, of Wind Ridge, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the home of her brother, Albert McMinn, Jr. of Carmichaels, Pa. Born March 20, 1936, in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Albert McMinn, Sr. and Catherine Harriet McCann McMinn. On October 30, 1976, she married Everett Lee Riggs who preceded her in death on February 25, 2014. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and working with her husband on their farm taking care of the animals. Until her marriage, Mrs. Riggs had spent the majority of her life living and working in Carmichaels, and a short period of time living in Virginia. Mrs. Riggs worked the concession stand at the Carmichaels Drive-In Theater for a few years, then worked as a switch-board telephone operator, which was located on the second floor of what is now the Community Bank building, until a dial system was put into operation in December of 1959. She also worked for a number of year as an assistant baker for Aglio's Bakery in Carmichaels. Mrs. Riggs is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Shirley Sanner and her husband, Jack, of Pottstown, Pa.; Esther McMinn of Carmichaels, Pa.; Glenn McMinn and his wife, Drema, of Edinburg, Virginia; Donald 'Red' McMinn and his wife, Nancy, of Alexandria, Virginia; and Albert McMinn, Jr., and his wife, Marsha, of Carmichaels, Pa., with whom she had recently made her home. She is also survived by a large number of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Gareth McMinn and two sisters, Mabel Louise McMinn and Bessie Ann McMinn.

Friends and family will be received at the Martin J. Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, on Saturday, May 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Carl L. Kibler will officiate. Interment in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville.
