Louise C. Miller, age 97 of Knox City, Missouri passed away Monday morning, March 6, 2006 at her residence north of Knox City, Missouri.

Born September 19, 1908 near Knox City, Missouri, she was a daughter of Victor Floyd and Clara Belle (McKay) Clauson.

On August 14, 1935 she was united in marriage to John Newton Miller and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1996.

Surviving are two sons, John Clauson Miller and his wife, Anita of Knox City, Missouri and James Victor Miller and his wife, Karen of Palmyra, Missouri; one daughter, JoAnne Layman and her husband, Fred. C. Layman of Knox City, Missouri; eleven grandchildren: Lisa Ann Mutchler and her husband, Jeff,, John Paul Miller and his wife, Angie, Leigh Miller Osborne and her husband, Dave, Eric Miller, James Christopher Miller and his wife, Erika,, Jayne Miller, Jill Miller, Jonathan Miller, Michelle Layman, Jodanna Koeller and her husband, Geoff, and John Carder Layman; one step-granddaughter, Angela Barnes; seven great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Lauren Mutchler, Megan and Mason Miller, Ashley and Ethan Osborne and Anna Louise Koeller; two step-great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Austin Barnes and several cousins.

Her parents and two brothers, Richard and Victor Floyd, Jr. preceded her in death.

Mrs. Miller attended Center Ridge Rural School and graduated from the Knox City high School. She then graduated from Stephens College in Columbia and then received her education degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia. She was a school teacher at Center Ridge and Pleasant Valley Rural Schools and six years at the Knox City Elementary School. Mr. and Mrs. Miller were engaged in farming north of Knox City.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Bee Ridge United Methodist Church and also attending the Knox City Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the Sunnyside Circle Extension Club. Louise enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
