Major League Baseball Player. Known as "Boardwalk Brown" becuase he was signed by scouts while playing in the sandlots of Atlantic City, New Jersey, he played Major League baseball as a pitcher for five seasons (1911 to 1915) with the Philadelphia Athletics and the New York Yankees. From 1911 through 1914 he played with the A's, and was a member of the Athletics' American League Pennant winning teams in 1911 and 1913 9although he did not pitch in either subsequent World Series). His best year was 1913, when he finished with a 17 Win-11 Loss record. He was purchased by the New York Yankees during the 1914 season and played with them through the 1915 season until his release. He finished his career with a record of 38 Wins, 40, Losses and a 3/47 Career Earned Run Average.
