CHARLES HUDSON KILLED IN FALL DOWN STAIRWAY

The body of Charles H. Hudson lies at the Kroeger & Winquist morgue, his death having resulted from a broken neck, sustained last night about 11 o'clock by a fall down the stairway which communicates with his room over the John Flannegin grocery store at Sixth and North streets.
Hudson was a worker in concrete and about thirty-seven years old. He was an epileptic, occasionally suffering from such attacks, and in addition was said to be addicted to the intemperate use of intoxicants. He was a well built, rather fine looking man, dark complexioned and wore a short black mustache.
Patrolman Pierce was passing the Flannegin grocery at 11 o'clock last night when he found Hudson lying at the bottom of the stairs and evidence was plain that he had fallen down the stairs. He was still breathing and an ambulance was called and the man taken to St. Joseph hospital, where he died at 1 a.m. His neck was fractured and there were several bad bruises on his forehead where he had struck the landing in his fatal tumble.
The remains were removed to the Kroeger & Winquist morgue, where they were viewed by Coroner M. B. Stewart, who rendered a verdict of death from causes as stated above.
Persons who had seen Hudson previous to his fatal fall down the stairs, stated that he had fallen two or three times on the sidewalk previous to his starting up the stairs.
It is understood the man has relatives living in the county and the funeral arrangements will be withheld pending word from these relatives.
