Thomas Robb, 79, Bismarck, died April 25, 2014. Thomas has been cremated and a graveside service will be held on Friday, May 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Thomas was originally from southwestern North Dakota and grew up in the Bowman and Regent areas. He graduated from Regent High School in 1953 where he was valedictorian of his class. After high school he enlisted in the US Army and became a member of the Army Security Agency. After attending the Monterey Language School he served in Japan as a Russian interpreter. Following his service in the Army Tom enrolled at the University of North Dakota where he graduated in 1962.

After graduating from UND he enlisted in the US Navy and attended Naval Officers training. As a naval officer Tom served on two aircraft carried as their Naval Intelligence Officer during the Vietnam War. Following this tour of duty he again returned to Japan serving as Naval Protocol Officer for General McGee, head of US Forces in Southeast Asia.

Following his career in the Navy, Tom returned to UND and earned his law degree. After graduating from law school he became assistant attorney general for the state of ND. From here he went into private practice as an attorney in the Bismarck area. During this time he also served as States Attorney for Sioux County.

Tom's greatest passion in life was hunting and his favorite was upland game, especially pheasants. He probably would most like to be remembered as one of the best 20 gauge shots in North Dakota!

Tom is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Reppe, Northfield, MN; brother Wes Robb, Lake Tahoe, CA; and his long time partner and best friend, Florence Glass, Bismarck.

Tom was preceded in death by his father Neil Robb and mother Lettie Robbie.
