Lewis "Louie" Grant Barnes 68, of Bedford, KY peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side at Norton Hospital, in Louisville, KY on April 29, 2014. He was born on May 12, 1945 in Trimble County to his parents Obie D. Barnes and Mary Jane Williams Barnes both whom preceded him in death.

Louie graduated from Trimble County High School in 1963 as a Valedictorian.
He entered the military on September 21, 1965 during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged on September 12, 1967. During Louie's service he obtained the rank of Specialist 4th Class in Ammo Storage. During his 11 months overseas, Louie served his country with pride.

Louie always enjoyed being outside finding his best contentment when he was fishing and hunting. Louie loved the quiet solitude you find when bringing in the "Big Catch" and looking for the red squirrel and rabbit. Also Louie, enjoyed playing tennis and horseback riding. He was an avid UK fan and a Cincinnati Reds Fan, never wanting to miss a game. He loved to talk on the phone and one never saw Louie when he would not stop to talk. Louie was a member of Poplar Ridge Baptist Church. He worked for Conn Organ for many years. Louie retired from Kentucky Utilities (LGE). Above all Louie loved his time he spent with his beloved family and most of all his grandchildren.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents, his Brothers: Dwight Barnes, Kenneth Barnes; his brother in law: Delbert Brown. A step son Shawn M. Andrew

He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife of 36 years Sue Barnes of Bedford, KY. His daughter Brittany Barnes (Jay Hinson), Step Daughter: Shannon Stidham, Step Daughter-in-law: Suzanne Andrew. Grandchildren: Brye Welty, Seth Andrew, Abigail Stidham, Kennedy Stidham, Harper Hinson, Hayes Hinson, Hadley Kate Barnes – Hinson
Louie was survived by his Sister: Phyllis Brown
Nephews: Terry Barnes, Shane Brown (Angela), Clinton McKay, Steven Barnes, Robert Barnes, Stuart Barnes, Matthew Barnes
Nieces: Lesa Barnes Miller, Michelle Barnes – Fielder, Denise Smith (Rob), Rachel Barnes
Great Nieces: Dakota Brown, Cheyenne Smith
Great Nephew: Jacob Brown
