Joseph William Gallagher, 66, Beech Grove, died Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove. Born, May 2, 1923, he was the son of James and Mary (McHugh) Gallagher. He was married to Pearl Louise (Long) Gallagher, who was born and raised in Tipton. She survives him.

He retired in 1980 as a worker in the composing room at the Indianapolis News. He was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church and the Beech Grove American Legion post 276 as well as a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. .

Gallagher Is survived by three daughters, Peggy Shaw, Kristina Gallagher and Connie Gallagher; one son, Joseph Gallagher; two sisters, Margaret Bell and Gertrude Wagner; one brother, Bernard Gallagher and one grandchild. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Holy Name Catholic Church, Beech Grove. Friends may call f rom 2 to 9 p.m. today at Little and Sons Funeral Home In Beech Grove.
