Jake was born November 27, 1959 in Atlanta, GA.
He was a graduate of Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, TN. He was employed as a mechanical engineer by Whirlpool Corporation in Cleveland, TN at the time of his death and was previously employed by Poulan/Electrolux in Nashville, AR. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Cleveland, TN; son, Josh and wife Catherine of Cookeville, TN; daughter, Jaima and husband Scott Shoup of Cookeville, TN, three granddaughters, all of Cookeville, TN; mother, Veva and step father Billy Foster, of Horatio, AR; brother, David of Horatio, AR; father, Ed Jackson of Houston, TX; step daughter, Janean of Cookeville, TN; two step granddaughters. He leaves behind also a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Jake loved his family and friends and all will miss him greatly.
Jake's physical body was cremated at his request and his soul is in heaven awaiting the rest of us. A memorial service is planned for July 26th, 2014 at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service, 2415 Georgetown Rd. NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 (check with Companion for any change or exact time). In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Horatio United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
