George Brown, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Hall had nine children. Land records of Frederick County show a deed wherein George Brown, names his four sons, Henry, William, Hugh and Joshua Brown. His will mentions a son named, Josiah. Daughters named Jamima or Jemima ,Sarah, Rebecca, Nancy are mentioned in his will.

George was married the 2nd time to Ruth Stansberry and they had a daughter, Belinda Brown around 1813.

He supported the cause of American Independence. Referred to as, George, the Patriot. Revolution Records of Maryland show George Commission as 1st Lieutantent in Captain John Cormacks Company Aug. 16, 1781.

George can be found listed as being in Frederick County in the "Heads of Families at the First Census of the United States taken in the year 1790, Maryland.

George's Father is George Brown, Sr. (1690-1770) and Mother is Mary Stevenson (1698-1776).

George was known to sign paperwork with his "mark" which looked to some people like a "C". Therefore, there are those who mistakenly think his middle initial was a "C."
