She was born April 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Anthony and Francis Masel Dobrovolec.
She was married to Henry James Racich for 64 years before his passing Sept. 1, 2012.
Elsie suffered a stroke seven years ago and had never fully recovered before being struck with Alzheimer's disease. She fought the good fight and is now in eternal rest. Elsie loved traveling with family and friends and was always up for an adventure. She often said that she had a bag packed and was ready to go at a moment's notice. She followed wherever Hank and the band played and loved spending time with their friends and family. She had a strong will, a quick wit and a ready smile, even to the end.
She leaves behind her daughters, Terry Racich of Vergennes, Vt., Janet Lynn Montoya of San Rafael, Calif., and Kimberly (James) Toth of Liberty Township; three grandsons, Tony (Holly) Nittoli, Joseph Nittoli and Joshua Hubbard Racich; and one granddaughter, Rachel Toth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Andrew and Alban Dobrovolec; and sister Vida Dobrovolec, who lovingly raised her after their mother passed away when Elsie was 12 years old.
Elsie will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
