Olive Mae Gillespie, 91, of Little League Drive, North Sewickley Township, died Monday, December 19, 2011 at the Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls.

She was born in New Brighton on March 25, 1920, to the late Clarence and Mary Saker Balderson.

She married on July 29, 1944 to William Kennedy Gillespie, who passed away on May 14, 2000.

Mrs. Gillespie was a member of the North Liberty Presbyterian Church in Grove City. She had also been a member of the Calvin United Presbyterian Church, where she served as church secretary.

Mrs. Gillespie served as receptionist at Family Services of Beaver County, and as secretary for various departments at Geneva College. After retiring from Geneva, she worked at the Brooms and Blooms Flower Shop.

She was an active charter member of the North Sewickley Federation of Women's Club and served as President of the Beaver County Federation of Women's Club. She also served as a Board of Directors member of the former Easter Seals of Beaver County.

She attended Garfield Business School and graduated from New Brighton High School.

She is survived by two daughters and a son, and one sister. Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Paul R. Black; sister, Naomi Corl, and three brothers-in-law, Lawrence, Robert and Donald Gillespie.

Friends will be received at the MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City, from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, December 21. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Calvin Presbyterian Church. Officiating the service will be the Reverend James Leuenberger, Interim Pastor of North Liberty Presbyterian Church, and the Reverend Jerry A. Mahaffey, Pastor Emeritus of North Liberty Presbyterian Church of Grove City. Also assisting the funeral service will be the Reverend Dr. Paul Holland of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Beaver Falls.

Memorial gifts in honor of Mrs. Gillespie can be made to North Liberty Presbyterian Church and sent to the church at North Liberty Plain Grove Road, Grove City, PA 16127.
