Son of James 'Monroe' Chostner and Louisa Catherine (Estes) Chostner.

Pinkney B. Chostner, 48 of Charleston, Mo., was born near Scopus, Mo. April 11, 1878. He was seriously injured while leaping from his truck, he passed from this life on the way to the hospital at Cairo, IL August 26, 1926.
He professed religion and joined the General Baptist Church at the age of 14, he had lived a devoted Christian.
On the 23rd day of November 1902 he was united in marriage to Zow Ellen Nanney. To this union six children, four boys and two girls were born.
He is survived by six children, an aged mother, and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Pierce of Scopus, Mo.; Mrs. Missouri Miller of Marble Hill, Mo.; and Mrs. Mary James of East St. Louis, Ill.; three brothers, Jackson Chostner of Los Angeles, Calif.; Monroe Chostner of St. Louis; and John H. Chostner of St. Louis.
A large congregation assembled in the new cemetery at Jackson, where service was held. His body was laid to rest in the new cemetery.
