David C. Proctor of Union, pioneer of 1850 and veteran road supervisor of Murray, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. H. Rock, at Midvale, early yesterday morning. He was born in England in 1830 and with his father went to Nauvoo, Ill., in 1838. He came to Utah in 1850 and was employed as a stage driver until 1864, when he settled at Union.
Besides his daughter, Mrs. Rock, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. J. A. Cahoon of Murray; two sons, D. A. Procter of Butlerville, and George W. Proctor of Union; two sisters, two half-brothers, twenty four grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Union ward meeting house Thursday at 1 p.m. The body will lie in state at the meeting house from 12 until 1 p.m. on the day of the funeral. Interment will be in Murray City cemetery.
