She was born Sept. 23, 1909, to Sidney J. and Florence C. Skidmore in Mount Holly.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Hillcrest Gardens, Mount Holly
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Holly for many years and at the time of her death was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Newton, NC.
She was employed by American and Efird Mills for 26 years starting as a secretary in 1948 and retiring in 1974 as Assistant Administrator of the Thread Sales Office. After retirement, she became a consultant and was sent to different locations around the country to help solve inventory and procedural problems.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: Her first husband, Frederick H. Cartledge, and second husband, Edwin D. Powell Sr.
