Funeral services for Clarence Durwood Haynes 80, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. Matt Ward officiating.
Interment will follow at Ellis Chapel Cemetery north of Wills Point.
He passed away Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2014, in Wills Point.
Clarence was born December 6, 1933, in Hamilton, Texas, the son of Gentry Perkins Haynes and Rosellen Pierce Haynes. He was raised in Hamilton.
On November 30, 1963, he married Betty Lou Thomas in Hamilton. Clarence was employed by Buckner Construction for seventeen years, J.D. Abrams Construction, Champagne Webber Construction and in 2001 he retired from Balfour Beatty Construction in Dallas. He lived in Greenville prior to moving to Wills Point in 1966.
Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and raising chickens. He loved his grandchildren very much. Clarence was a member of First Baptist Church in Wills Point.
Preceded in death by his parents, Gentry and Rosellen Haynes; grandson, Jason Kittle; three brothers, Paul Haynes, Norman "Doc" Haynes and Alvin Ray Haynes.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Betty Lou Haynes, of Wills Point; son, Weldon Haynes & wife, Mandy, of Wills Point; three daughters, Karen Gardner & husband, Roger, of Ben Wheeler, Sandra Kittle, of Ft. Worth and Misti Bury & husband, Shawn, of Wills Point; two brothers, Don Haynes, of Mount Vernon and Joe Frank Haynes, of Hamilton; four sisters, Cora Marcum, of Lebanon, Missouri, Rose Whitaker, of Wills Point, Lucille Dodson, of Clifton and Alice Faye Ault, of Hamilton; thirteen grandchildren, Amber Bury, Mickala Hooten, Matthew Hooten, Kyle Hooten, II, Katie Bury, Jason Dale Gardner, Britney Bellar, Clarence "Gus" Haynes, Eli Haynes, Sarah Bury, Eric Kittle, Jenifer Aslin and Stephanie Young; six great-grandchildren, Kylie Kittle, Jayson Kittle, Jazmin Kittle, Kaelynn Aslin, Lance Payne and Brayden Gardner and one great-great granddaughter, Kinsley Burleson.
