Selma (Sally) McGrath was born in Russia on August 19, 1923. Sally, her parents, and two siblings escaped from religious persecution in Russia when she was 6 years old. Sally graduated from Whitworth University where she met the love of her life, Bob McGrath. Together with her dear husband of 63 years, they lived a life of honor and integrity. Above everything, they lived their lives devoted to Jesus Christ.

Sally received a Masters degree from Seattle Pacific University. She retired from Seattle Public Schools after teaching third grade at Broadview Elementary. Most of all, our dear Mother taught us the importance of faith, family and the significance of friendship. Sally was a wonderful cook and entertainer, and opened her heart and home so graciously to all. After suffering a brief illness, Sally McGrath died peacefully on February 24, 2010 to be with her Lord.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob McGrath. She also leaves behind her devoted daughters and sons in law, Kris and Brad Bemis, and Kathie and Steve Colwell. In addition she leaves behind her grandchildren, Beth Isenhath and husband Scott. Scott Sypher, Sarah Sypher, Shay Frederickson and husband Mike, Tarsi Hall and husband Judd, and Trey Bemis and wife Carrie. Sally also leaves behind three great grandchildren, Grace, Kyle, and Ryan Sypher. Our family would like to thank her many friends who loved and cared for her throughout her life, and particularly after her devastating loss of her dear husband. To her family and friends, Sally will always be remembered for her loving and sweet nature, and her life as a Godly gracious woman.

Memorial Services will be held at Emerald Heights Retirement Community in Redmond Washington, on March 12, at 10:00 in the morning. In lieu of flowers, please send your remembrances to Melanoma Research. Foundation, 170 Township Line Road, Building B, Hillsborough, NJ 08844, or the Cornerstone Fellowship at 1234 Long Street, PO Box 1, Sweet Home, Oregon 77386.
