Columbiana Carl "Rich" Arthur, 83 of West Salem Street, formerly of East Palestine and New Waterford, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Northside Medical Center, Youngstown, where he had been a patient for the past six days. Rich was born November 12, 1931 in Ironton, a son of the late John and Minnie L. Morrell Arthur, and had resided in this area since moving here as a child. He had been employed as a driver with area companies, having last driven with Extreme Trucking. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He is survived by his wife, the former Vivian Gorby, whom he married October 24, 1964. Rich also leaves a son, Cliff (Darlene) Riley of East Palestine, and two daughters, Ginger (Ed) Hillenbrand, Sidney, and Becky (Scott) Burns, East Palestine. In addition, six grandchildren survive, Wade and Clint Riley, Tracy Scully, Frank Hillenbrand, Liz and Scoot Burns; and seven great grandchildren, Jake and Tyler Riley, Mackenzie and Andrew Scully, Chase, Avery, and Gage Hillenbrand. Eight sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at the Oliver-Linsley Funeral Home from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30th, with a funeral service at the end of visitation with Robert J. Helbeck of the First Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.
