Kenneth Dean Hauck, 85, of Mitchell, NE passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff in Scotts Bluff County, NE. A memorial service was held on, Friday, April 25, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Mitchell with Pastor Juan Espinoza officiating. There were no visitations as cremation has taken place in accordance with Kenneth’s wishes. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Mitchell or to the Panhandle Humane Society. Kenneth was born October 8, 1928 in Howard County, Nebraska to Albert and Jeannette (Peterson) Hauck. He graduated from Gering High School in 1947.
Kenneth married Helen Louise Wilson on August 7, 1949 in Gering, NE.
He served in the Army during the Korea Conflict. He entered on January 16, 1952 and was honorably discharged on January 15, 1954.
Kenneth worked as a plumber for Settles Plumbing and Heating in Mitchell from 1957 until 1991.
Kenneth enjoyed traveling, camping and collecting windmills. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mitchell, American Legion, Eagles, BPOE, Moose and the Gering, Lyman and Mitchell volunteer fire departments.
Survivors include his wife, Helen of Mitchell, NE; son, Michael (Vickie) Hauck of Casper, WY; brother, Dale (Randy) Hauck of Gering, NE; numerous nieces and nephews and special family, Steven, Linda and Stephanie Alfred of Mitchell, NE.
Preceding Kenneth in death were his parents; three infant sons, James, Gerald and Christopher; one infant daughter, JeanAnn and twin brother, Keith.
