Pauline was raised Catholic in East St. Louis Illinois after her mother passed away when she was only two and a half months old. Pauline lived with her grandmother Martha Emily Pait McMillan until her father Ralph Waldo Smith remarried to Laura Govero. He took Pauline back to live with him when she was 12. At age 18, Pauline married Bill Englis in 1939. They lived at RR #1, Maplewood IL in November 1943. Together Pauline & Bill Englis had four children1) Lana Lee Englis (Lynn Marie Ackerman Stewart)2) Robert Dale Englis (Thomas Orr)3) Linda Lou Englis (Mary Ann Pazderka Malone Klosterman)4) Michael Perry - Age and whereabouts unknown. Born either before 1943 or after August 1947.In mid 1947, the aforementioned children were removed from the home by the state of Illinois and subsequently Pauline and Bill divorced. All three children were adopted into separate homes. They did not know of each others existence until the late 1980's. In early 1948, Pauline met and presumably married Charles Lewis Schaefer. At that time she began using the middle name Elaine with a birth year of 1917. Together Pauline & Charles Schaefer had five children.5) Richard Lewis Schaefer (Richard Lewis Williams)6) Robert Frank Schaefer7) Charlene Fay Schaefer (Sherry Elizabeth Hoock Duffy)8) Arlene Kay Schaefer (Heather Elisabeth Burham McCarthy)9) Jack David Schaefer (Jack David Owens) Richard & Robert are fraternal twins born in Harris County, Texas. Charles & Pauline kept Richard in Texas with them. Robert was left with Charles' sister Lenora Schaefer in Illinois.Heather & Sherry are fraternal twins. They were born premature and given up for adoption promptly at birth at Christian Welfare Hospital in East St Louis. Heather and Sherry were reunited in 1995 after finding one another. Charles and Pauline also attempted to keep Jack. Sometime near Jacks 1st birthday as Charles grew ill, both Richard & Jack were adopted out into separate families. Richard, Robert & Jack all new of each other growing up but had lost touch a few times through the years. They also knew there were other siblings to find. July 28, 2016 thanks to a DNA link, we have found Pauline's new husband Charles Louis "Hank" Schaefer. Mary Ann was reunited through the DNA test with Richard, Heather & Sherry. A miracle it is!In April 2018, through another DNA link, another child named Michael Perry was discovered. Assuming he was born either before July 1943 or after August 1947. Michael Perry is full blooded sibling to Lynn, Tom and Mary Ann, sharing DNA from both Pauline Smith and William Englis. Michael Perry's whereabouts are not known.2019- Through another DNA link, it was found that Pauline married Raymundo Guerrero Martinez. Together they had two children 10) Raymundo Guerrero Smith Martinez in 1956 and a daughter in 1959 named 11) Carol Martinez (Ireta Georgeann Henry). Then Pauline has an affair with Raymundos cousin, Fred Rodriguez Martinez producing had another child, 12) Mercedes Elaine Smith Martinez in 1964.
