ORWELL — Cynthia Nye Marsh of Orwell, passed peacefully into heaven, Monday, Sept. 26, 2011. The Lord provided wonderful care givers making it possible for her to live 96 years and die at home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8th, in Celebration of Her Life, at the Orwell North Church, Orwell, Ohio. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m.

Cynthia was born in Hartsgrove, Ohio, on July 19, 1915. Robert E. Nye and Clara Kampf Nye raised five children: Cynthia, Mary, Elizabeth, Perry and Wm. Robert. Love of the Lord and their fellowmen, respect, integrity, honesty, and the hard work ethic, they must have modeled well, for each became a blessing to their families, church, community and country.

In 1954, Cynthia married the love of her life Ab (Albert) Marsh. With that marriage came two children, Donald (deceased) and Jackie (Roger) Smith. Fulfilling her life, these three, were a blessing not only to her, but to all her siblings families. She lived a full and tremendously productive life.

Following graduation in 1933 from Orwell High School, she attended Hiram College then graduated from Kent State University with a Masters degree in Education. For 33 years, she taught in the classroom, and out, how special and unique each person was created. She fully understood the tremendous power of the tongue to build up and tear down lives. She was truly a molder of dreams. She taught in Hartsgrove, Garfield, Andover and Grand Valley Schools.

Active in her churches, Hartsgrove then Orwell North, she served as teacher, elder, choir member and other capacities. Cynthia loved to read. She served on the Library Board of Trustees for 33 years and was instrumental in the building of the new Orwell library. The round stained glass window in the peak was placed there in her honor upon her retirement from the board. In 1986, she was honored as the "citizen of the year" for Grand Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Affectionately called "Mother", "Grandmother", "Auntie", "Cynie", "Miss Nye" and "Mrs. Marsh", she will be missed by many for a short time; till those who believe and receive new life in Christ are reunited in heaven.

Through her life she modeled good stewardship, "work as hard as you can work, save as much as you can save, so you can give as much as you can give”. In passing, she leaves most of what she was blessed with to bless others; her library, her churches, and a park in her beloved Hartsgrove. Thank You Cynthia for a well spent life. You have brought God great glory!
