Mrs. Cornelius Burgett passed from this life, Friday, October 11, 1911, at her country home six and one-half miles northwest of Hennessey. Death resulted from paralysis, deceased having been ill but one week.
   Mrs. Burgett was born April 25, 1847. Her maiden name was Lovina Elnor Wicoff. She was three times married. The first husband was a Mr. Upham and one son blessed this union, Frank Upham, who resides at Sharon, Kansas, but who was with his mother when the end came. A few years after the death of Mr. Upham, Mrs. Upham was united in marriage with Robert Woods. No children was born to them and they adopted a baby girl, Lovina Aleathy Woods. Mr. Woods died and in 1896 Mrs. Woods married Cornelius Burgett.
   Mr. and Mrs. Burgett have resided on their farm northwest of town for many years and are well known as good neighbors, and have a large circle of friends.
   The funeral of Mrs. Burgett was held from the home Saturday morning, Rev. C. H. McDermond conducting the services. Interment was made in the Hennessey cemetery.
   The husband, son, daughter, and a sister, Mrs. Phlue Sealy, of Michigan, who sorrowfully followed the remains of their loved one to the last resting place, have the sympathy of the community.
