She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 40 years, John C. Harrison Sr. and parents, Burnie and Dorothy Horton.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Woods, Kimberly (Gary) Cole and John C. Harrison Jr. (Wendy Engler); grandchildren, Amy (Cody McClain), Emily and Kimberly Harrison, Brandie (Ronald) Glover, Jennifer Mayes and Jonathan Woods, Greta (Scott) Coleman, Gina Cole and Graham (Stacy) Cole; great-grandchildren, Josiane and Camilla Willingham, Abigail and Warren Coleman, Myranda DeMailly and Lauren Glover and Trinity McClain; brother, Richard Horton; several nieces; special lifelong friends, Joe and Joan Lester. She and Joan have been best friends for more than 65 years, a testimony to true friendship, love and devotion. She was like a sister to her many cousins, especially Jennifer and Emil Hoffman.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, April 30 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Georges officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be 10 a.m., Thursday, May 1 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church's Building Fund, Trinity United Methodist's Building Fund, and/or Trinity United Methodist Youth Fund.
