Frances Mae (Nordstrom) Huset, 78, a resident of New Baltimore, Mich., for 48 years, passed away July 20, 2009, at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital.
She was born May 29, 1931, at Bowesmont, N.D., to Walter and Gertrude Nordstrom.
She spent her early years in North Dakota, graduating from Mayville State College in 1960, and later graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a Master's Degree in 1969.
She was employed as a teacher in North Dakota and Minnesota and retired after 24 years as a teacher in Mount Clemens Community Schools at Selfridge Air National Guard Base School in 1986.
She enjoyed bowling, reading and traveling. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, a sorority for present and retired teachers.
She is survived by her husband, James of 48 years; daughter, Kimberly (Joe) Yonkoski and grandson, James; sister, Doris Methner of Royal Oak, Mich.; brothers, Allan (Pat) Nordstrom of Bathgate, N.D., Wallace (Dorothy) Nordstrom of Cavalier, N.D., and Robert (Ann) Nordstrom of International Falls, Minn.; and sister-in-law, Lena Nordstrom; also many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Gertrude; sister, Beatrice Rooksberry; and brother, Harold Nordstrom.
SERVICES: Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Gendernalik Funeral Home, 35259 Twenty-Three Mile, New Baltimore, Mich. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery, New Baltimore. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
