Alma Jean Troutman, 86, of 140 Main St., Klingerstown beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother passed away, Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Manor Care in Pottsville.
She was born September 13, 1927 in Klingerstown, a daughter of the late Harry and Hattie (Schlegel) Davis.
Jean was a mother and housewife. When her kids were all grown she went to work for McCrory’s in Elizabethville until retiring. She had lasting friendships with her co-workers and customers.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Klingerstown.
Jean enjoyed traveling, going to concerts and the movies, and snowmobiling. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was the widow of Gilbert Eugene “Gib” Troutman, whom she married on January 30, 1943. They were married for 65 years.
She is survived by seven children and spouses, Jim and Myra Troutman, Judy Shade, Dale and Yvonne Troutman, all of Klingerstown, Sheila Troutman, of FL, Kay and Mike Wharton of York Haven, Vicki and Jerry Narlock of FL, and Elaine Artz of Hegins; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; one sister and spouse Norma and Paul Shiffer of Klingerstown; seven sisters-in-law and spouses, Pauline Wiest of Millersburg, Margaret Harner of Sacramento, Joanna and Claus Wiest of Pillow, Helen Erdman of Sunbury, Shirley and John Klinger of Valley View, and Dot Reed of Rife and Gloria Davis of AL; one brother-in-law, Marlin Troutman of Berrysburg and his friend Eileen Kissinger of Millersburg; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Joy and Elsie (Troutman) Troutman, three brothers Bryant, Melvin and Willard, one sister Shirley Davis, and one son-in-law Gary Shade.
Funeral Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Klingerstown.
