Born June 20, 1942, in Burlington, he was the son of Orin Orville "Okie" and Hazel Dodd Dideriksen. On February 11, 1967, he married Mary Jane Rehman in Marion, Iowa.
Larry worked in the electrical department for IAAP. He then became part owner/electrical contractor of Seither and Cherry in Keokuk, Iowa. After moving back to Burlington Larry became co-owner/electric contractor of JD Electric. Following his retirement he became an electrical consultant for Frank Millard and Company.
He was a 1961 graduate of Burlington High School. He attended Southeastern Community College and Iowa State University.
He was a U.S. Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
He was president of Iowa Chapter of NECA for several years. He was on the IBEW apprentice board. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Knights of Columbus, Burlington Golf Club, and SS. John and Paul Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter, golfer, bowler and fisherman. He enjoyed world wide traveling and playing bridge. He was a sports enthusiast. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Joel, and one brother, Bobby.
