Born February 19, 1985 in Poughkeepsie, NY he was the son of Landon Roosevelt Gray and Lisa Gray.
On February 5th 2004 he met the Love of his life Samantha David. He loved Samantha more than anything and they planned to marry in 2015. Through this Union a beautiful boy named Cassius Nelson Gray was born on December 13, 2007. Ryan was a loving father, provider and protector to Samantha and Cassius.
Ryan was a 2003 graduate of FDR High School in Hyde Park, NY. He was a star athlete at FDR playing both football and basketball all four years.
He was employed by Taconic DDSO and most recently Saint Francis Hospital.
Ryan was a happy, funny guy whose smile always lit up the room. He loved to spend time with his family and friends listening, creating and performing music. What he loved most to do is spend time with his son teaching him how to play sports, ride a bike, build leggos, watch movies together, fishing and doing his homework daily. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on April 23, 2000 at Beulah Baptist Church. In addition to Samantha and Cassius he is survived by his Loving Mother Lisa Gray, Maternal grandmother Joan Paquet both of Poughkeepsie, 6 sisters, Lavonde Johnson and LaShana Johnson of Birmingham Alabama. Brittany Gray, Shayna Gray, Zahra Gray of Poughkeepsie, Iman Gray of Poughkeepsie, NY, and a host of Uncles, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and friends.He was predeceased byhis father:Landon; paternal grandparents Ollie Jr. and Lucy Gray and maternal grandfather Robert G. Paquet all whom resided in Poughkeepsie, NY and greeted him with Love at the Gates of Heaven.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 29, 2014, 10-11AM at the Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catherine St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Services will begin at 11AM with the Rev. Jesse Bottoms officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
